Description - What to expect
Itinerary
Day 1: Las Vegas to Zion National Park
After a 7 am pick up at your Las Vegas Resort Hotel, the tour starts by leaving Las Vegas behind and enjoying a beautiful drive through the Mojave desert and the St.George Gorge Canyon with a stop in Saint George then onto the day’s destination, Zion National Park and it’s Visitors Center. By way of the Zion Shuttle, we drive through the famous Zion Canyon with stops including Zion Lodge, Weeping Rock, Temple of Sinawava, and an opportunity for one of the many iconic hikes to end out our first day at Zion.
Day 2: Zion To Bryce Canyon
The second day starts with a fantastic drive up the Zion-Mount Carmel Highway and a photo opportunity at Checkerboard Mesa and then continuing to Bryce National Park. For many people, Bryce is the most beautiful of the Western Parks. You may very well agree, especially after taking one of the many hiking trails winding through radiant red and pink spires of stone (called HooDoos) millions of years old. It is a paradise for sightseers, hikers, and photographers alike! After an unforgettable day, we will make our way to Kanab also know as “little Hollywood” home of many, Western movies like Stagecoach, with John Wayne, “The Outlaw Josey Wales”, with Clint Eastwood, and more recently “Planet of the Apes” with Mark Wahlberg. Also filmed here, many TV shows such as Gunsmoke and the Lone Ranger because of the rugged, dramatic beauty found here.
Day 3: Antelope Canyon & Horseshoe Bend
The 3rd day starts with us leaving Kanab after breakfast for a beautiful short hike to the Toadstool Hoodoos of the Paria area on the way to Page, Arizona. In Page, we will enjoy perhaps the most anticipated event of the trip, a hike into Antelope Canyon lead by Navajos Nation guides to see and photograph the spectacular multihued, constantly changing, walls of these one-of-a-kind slot canyons. The reputation of Antelope Canyon causes people to travel here from all over the world to see and experience them! Depending on the time of the year, sitting on the rose-colored beach of Lake Powell, or taking a dip in the water, will bring this exceptional day to a beautiful close!
Day 4: Page to Grand Canyon South Rim
After breakfast, we travel south to the Grand Canyon National Park. A full day of activities awaits us on Grand Canyon’s South Rim.
After a stop at the impressive Desert View Tower, our first impression of the Canyon, we will make our way to the Yavapai Geological Museum and a first rim trail hike to Bright Angel Lodge. From there the day is open to explore the rim; perhaps hike down Bright Angel Trail a distance, or take the shuttle bus to Hermits Rest and walk back, or a combination of it all! Rest assured the view is spectacular no matter where we are and the photo opportunities are abundant!
Day 5: Grand Canyon South Rim to Las Vegas
Leaving Grand Canyon South Rim on day 5, we stop at historic Williams Arizona and perhaps one of the best coffee and pie stops along Route 66! Moving on, we go to Saligman which was the model town for “Radiator City” in the animated movie franchise “Cars”! A visit, to Hoover Dam, will end our beautiful tour and in historic Boulder City, “Home of the Hoover Dam”, we will celebrate with a goodbye drink and a big thank you to all of you before returning to Las Vegas.
