Limnaio Guesthouse is a small family business and an ideal place for a restful and yet exciting holiday in lake Kerkini. Limnaio Guesthouse is more than a hotel. It is an outdoor activities hub for guests that want to get close to nature and have unforgettable experiences in pristine Kerkini lake and its surroundings.

Apart from accommodation, our guests can enjoy a wealth of activities, organized on request before their arrival. So take your time, enjoy our homemade breakfast, and we will make sure to offer you unforgettable experiences.

About the property

Located in a quiet location in Chrysohorafa Village, the traditionally built Limnaio guest house is only a short walk from the shore of Lake Kerkini.

It offers free Wi-Fi access, and its air-conditioned rooms are painted with earthy color, featuring wrought-iron or wooden beds. Each room includes an LCD TV, a DVD player, and a fridge. Free toiletries are also available in the private bathroom.

Ride a horse ride along the lake or mount Krousia. We offer various programs for both beginners and experienced riders.
◾ Cycling
It's the best way to discover the lakeside. We offer you mountain bikes and recommendations for routes.
◾ Hiking
Once in our guesthouse, we will make suggestions and give you directions on several hikes you can try either along the lake or the nearby mountains.
◾ Fishing
We love fishing ourselves, and if you are a fishing fan, we will make sure you have a great time in the lake. We provide you with all the equipment (traditional fishing rods and bait)
◾ Bird observation
It's a Not-to-Miss experience. Lake Kerkini is famous for birdwatchers all over the world. During migration in September and October, you can watch a countless number of herons, pelican, cormorants, spoonbills, glossy ibis, Lagos, and Geese.
◾ Hot Springs & Spa
After a hard day full of activities, you can relax in the hot springs water of either Aggistro or Sidirokastro.

  • Nikos took us for a 2 hour bird-watching tour, organised on short notice, and it was wonderful. Nikos is very knowledgable and passionate about the lake, the amazing pelicans, and all the other birds, including the sparrows that were nesting on the boat itself. It was a beautiful experience for us, we hope to come back.

  • Nikos is a spectacularly talented and professional guide. He offered to meet my partner and I near where we were staying in Thessaloniki to give recommendations for the city and was communicative about when and where we should meet him for the boat tour. The tour itself was excellent, he was very knowledgeable of the lake's history and its fauna, especially the endangered birds. When the tour was over, he gave us great recommendations for sightseeing and eating in the area. I'd highly recommend this experience to anyone with an interest in wildlife, especially birdwatching! Just keep in mind that you can book which day you take the tour, just not a specific time on that day. You will have to communicate with Nikos about that, but he is very flexible.
