Description - What to expect

Leave Salzburg behind you and enjoy a half-day trip to the Salzkammergut Lake District, where Salzburgs Prince Archbishops held royal hunts and the Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph and his family spent their summer vacations.

Pass by Lake Fuschl and admire castle Fuschl, now a five-star hotel, on its shores. Explore the little town of St. Gilgen, where Mozart's mother was born and enjoy a 45-minute boat ride to St. Wolfgang.
At St. Wolfgang your guide will show you the famous pilgrimage church with its carved gothic winged altar by Michael Pacher (visit is only possible if there are no events in the church).

There will be some time to explore the picturesque town or enjoy a coffee break on the terrace of the famous White Horse Inn (Weisses Rössl) We continue our journey along the Krottensee with views of castle Hüttenstein and drive along Lake Mondsee before we head back to Salzburg.
