Description - What to expect

The meeting point for this Tuscany bike tour is in Oltrarno, one of the most authentic districts of Florence. You can admire the stark contrast between the city and the countryside with your own eyes on a 4.5-hour panoramic bike tour from Florence.

The first part of the Tuscany bike tour takes about an hour. Follow your expert guide and leave the center via the ancient and majestic Porta Romana gate. This is the only entrance to Florence, still surrounded by 13th-century city walls, visible only in this part of the city!

The first climb of the day (1.3 km) is in a beautiful residential area of the city. Once at the top, you will see that Florence is already far away and we are approaching the Tuscan countryside. This is the longest climb, the others (only 3) will be much shorter, so don't worry!

After reaching the countryside along narrow, ancient roads, we will make many photo stops and learn about the local flora and fauna. Once you reach the farm, nestled in the beautiful hills, your guide will give you a tour of the estate and give you an introduction to the artisanal production of olive oil, walking through the orchard.

Finally, you will enjoy a nice glass of local Chianti wine and a tasting of extra virgin olive oil (made from the olives next to you!) paired with some Tuscan cold cuts and freshly baked bread.
You will get back on your bikes to return to Florence, passing through the ancient Tuscan village where Galileo Galilei lived and where his astronomical observatory is now located!

Near Florence, we will stop at San Miniato al Monte to admire one of the best views of the city and take a selfie. The last part of the trip is downhill towards the historic center.
