Depart Tromsø by bus for a wilderness adventure in the Tamokdalen Valley, where you'll embark on a guided Tromso snowshoeing hike, learn survival skills at a cozy nature camp, and cap off the day with a visit to the enchanting Tromsø Ice Domes Snow Park, complete with snow and ice sculptures and encounters with huskies and reindeer.

Description - What to expect

Depart from the city center of the city by bus and embark on this unique Tromso snowshoeing. After a 90-minute relaxing bus journey, you will enter the remote area Tamokdalen where our wilderness camp is located. Upon arrival at Camp Tamok, you will be warmly greeted by your guide and outfitted with all the necessary equipment and clothing, including snowshoes, poles, thermal suits, boots, and gloves as you will first head out on the snowshoe hike.

The Tromso snowshoeing tour is designed to be easy and accessible. An experienced guide will introduce you to the art of snowshoe walking at the start of the activity ensuring that even beginners can participate.

The snowshoe hike offers a unique opportunity to explore the serene winter landscapes at a slow pace. As you make your way through the snow, your guide will share fascinating insights about the Arctic environment and teach you some good ice-cold wilderness survival skills: how to sleep outdoors, what to eat and how to orientate yourself. Midway through the hike, we’ll pause at a nature camp where your guide will teach you how to chop wood and start a fire, on which you then will cook a delicious lunch.

Upon return to the camp, you will be informed of when and where you are expected for the second part of your activity: the visit to Tromsø Ice Domes Snow Park.

Enter the park and discover the magic of the snow and ice sculptures. Wander around by yourself through a mesmerizing display of snow and ice sculptures, a snow maze and explore our two domes. Marvel at the amazing art coming to life with light in its natural surroundings of pristine nature and peaceful Arctic landscapes. Get close to the two most iconic animals of Northern Norway: cuddle and take photos with our huskies and go visit the reindeer near the Sculpture Park.

After you visit the Snow Park, your day at Camp Tamok and Tromsø Ice Domes has come to an end. and it is time to board the bus and return to Tromsø, taking with you great memories of an entertaining day in the Arctic wilderness and plenty of images of the magical snow art.
