Description - What to expect
Embark on an unforgettable adventure with the Caminito del Rey Tour, one of Spain’s most breathtaking trekking experiences and a true journey through time. The walkway winds through the dramatic Gaitanes Gorge, covering about 3 kilometers, with some sections narrowing to just one meter in width. The Caminito del Rey Tour begins in the municipality of Ardales, passes through Antequera (province of Málaga), and concludes in El Chorro (Álora). Suspended from the vertical walls of the gorge, the route offers spectacular views, rising an average of 100 meters above the Guadalhorce River.
Its history dates back to 1921, when King Alfonso XIII crossed the walkway during the inauguration of the Conde de Guadalhorce Dam. From that moment, it became known as El Caminito del Rey. Over time, neglect turned it into one of the most dangerous paths in Europe, until extensive restoration in 2014 transformed it into a safe, accessible, and world-famous attraction. Since 2015, visitors can enjoy a 7-kilometer route that stretches between the Guadalhorce-Guadalteba Reservoir and El Chorro, offering spectacular views of the Gaitanes and Gaitanejo Gorges.
After completing the Caminito del Rey Tour, our transport will pick you up and take you to a local restaurant, where you can enjoy the traditional cuisine of the Sierra de Málaga. Alternatively, you may choose free time to have your own lunch or picnic.
This excursion can also include a visit to the historic town of Osuna, just one hour from Seville. Declared a Historic-Artistic Site, Osuna’s charm and architectural beauty have made it a popular filming location. After strolling through its picturesque streets, we’ll continue toward the gorge to begin the adventure.
At the end of the day, after enjoying the last breathtaking views of this unique natural wonder, we’ll return to Seville. Arrival is expected between 19:00 and 21:00, depending on the group’s pace and schedule—leaving you with unforgettable memories of your Caminito del Rey Tour.
