Meet your host at the reception of the Kritsa Gastronomy Hotel in Beautiful Portaria, and we'll take a short drive of about 2 km to the Karaiskos Organic Farm. This farm is the perfect spot, nestled on the slopes of Mt Pelion, with breathtaking views of the Pagasitikos Gulf.Upon arrival, we'll greet you with a refreshing drink and give you a tour of the organic garden, where you can soak in the harmony and beauty of the surroundings. Feel free to collect the fresh ingredients you'll need for your cooking class.
During the class, you'll learn the traditional technique of making open phyllo dough for the famous "spanakopita." We'll fill it with a variety of fresh vegetables and herbs straight from the farm's garden, and then bake it in the oven. While the pie is cooking, we'll also prepare some delicious fluffy fried zucchini balls called "kolokythokeftedes" and a refreshing cucumber yogurt dip known as "tzatziki," using herbs from the garden. To complete the meal, we'll serve a fresh seasonal salad.
As our special welcome gesture, we'll offer you a cup of hot mountain tea or homemade sour cherry juice. Once the pie is ready, we'll bring it to the table along with the seasonal salad and a bottle of wine sourced from a Greek vineyard.
