Description - What to expect

Your beekeeping and honey-tasting experience starts with a pickup from your hotel and a drive to a small traditional beekeeping unit, just outside Nafplio. You are going to meet your local, English-speaking, beekeeper who will introduce you to the fantastic world of bees and beekeeping. After a small theoretical briefing, you will wear protective uniforms and stroll in the natural habitat of bees, meadows full of colorful flowers, and delightful flower fragrances.

The beekeeper will introduce you to the art of beekeeping and bees’ society. He will give you details of the working inside the beehive, the role of the queen, the all-dominant ruler, as well as the functions of the more modest subjects of this peculiar kingdom, like the workers and the drones, seemingly doing nothing!! You will watch bees collecting pollen from flowers and converting it to sweat honey, storing it inside the beehive.

After this pleasant introduction into the unique world of bees, it's time for the sweetest part, honey tasting! You will have the opportunity to taste delicious varieties of honey as well as traditional sweets made with Greek honey as their main ingredient. As your experience comes to an end, you will be left with a sweet taste on your way back to Nafplio!
